These terms apply when you use the TRY Enviro Technologies LLC website, create an account, buy something or use our training. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Who can use the site
You must be at least 18 and able to make a binding agreement. The site and TRY Academy are not for children. If you create an account for an organisation, you confirm that you may act for it.
TRY Academy
TRY Academy at www.tryetech.com/academy is our online learning platform. It has its own login, so an account on this website does not sign you in there, and the Academy shows its own Terms, Privacy, Refund, Disclaimer and Cookies pages. Those pages and these terms are read together and are meant to say the same thing. If they ever differ, the Academy pages decide matters inside the Academy and these terms decide everything else.
If an organisation (for example a utility, college or workforce board) enrols you or gives you seats, its administrators can see your progress, scores, study time and certificates and can assign training, as described in our Privacy Policy. Organisation administrators are responsible for who they invite and for the instructions they give their learners.
Your account
Keep your password private and use a strong one. Each account is for one person and may not be shared. You are responsible for what happens under your account until you tell us it was compromised. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has used your account. We may suspend an account that is shared, used to copy our materials, or used in a way that harms the site or other people.
Courses, webinars and downloads
Training courses are taken and paid for in TRY Academy at www.tryetech.com/academy, which has its own accounts and secure checkout. This site does not sell courses or equipment directly.
When you buy a course or are given access to a webinar or module, you get a personal, non-transferable licence to use it for your own study and professional development. You may not copy, resell, publish, share or upload our course content, question banks, study guides or recordings, or let other people use your access. We own the course content and the site, or we have permission to use them. Your licence does not give you ownership of any of it.
Independent study material, not an exam guarantee
Certificates record completion; CEU/CPE credit is subject to approval by your licensing board or employer. Independent training, not affiliated with or endorsed by any licensing board or standards body.
Our courses are independent study aids and we do not guarantee any exam result. They are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR), the Virginia Board for Waterworks and Wastewater Works Operators, the Virginia Department of Health, the Department of Environmental Quality, WPI or PSI. Licensing and renewal requirements are set by the Board. We do not promise that you will pass an exam or be granted a licence. Where we list continuing professional education (CPE) hours for a session, check with the Board that the session meets your renewal requirements before relying on it.
Consulting and professional services
Consulting, testing and treatability work is provided under a separate written agreement, proposal or quote. The information on this site is general and is not engineering, legal or regulatory advice for your particular system.
Payment and prices
Prices are shown in US dollars. You pay through Stripe when you check out. We may change prices at any time, but a change does not affect an order you have already placed. Our Refund Policy forms part of these terms.
Acceptable use
Do not try to break into the site or other people's accounts, probe for weaknesses without our written permission, overload the site, use automated tools to copy it, cheat on assessments or share exam answers, impersonate anyone, or use it for anything unlawful. Do not send us, or post anywhere on the site or Academy, anything that is harmful, unlawful, misleading, defamatory or infringes anyone's rights or privacy.
If you send us content (for example an enquiry, an idea for Test My IDEA, feedback or a comment), you keep your rights in it and you give us permission to use it to respond to you and to run and improve our services. Do not send confidential or proprietary information you are not ready to share unless we have signed a written confidentiality agreement with you. We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules. If you find a security problem, please report it to info@tryetech.com and give us reasonable time to fix it before telling anyone else.
Intellectual property
The TRY name and logo, this site, TRY Academy, course lessons, questions, simulators, tools, videos, PDFs, illustrations and software are owned by TRY Enviro Technologies LLC or used with permission, and are protected by copyright and other laws. We reserve all rights not expressly given in these terms. Names of licensing boards, exam providers, regulators and equipment makers belong to their owners and are used only to identify them. Their use does not mean they endorse us.
Availability
We aim to keep the site available but we do not promise it will always work without interruption. We may update, pause or remove features, courses or webinars. If we permanently remove a course you have paid for, we will refund the unused part of your purchase.
Third-party services
Payments are handled by Stripe, and some videos are hosted by YouTube or Vimeo. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.
AI-assisted content and your duty to check it
Much of the content on this site, including course lessons, study guides, practice questions and explanations, slides, webinars, articles, calculators and tools, is prepared with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) tools. AI can produce errors, outdated information and statements that sound right but are wrong. We take care in preparing material, but we do not promise that it is accurate, complete or current. You agree to double-check anything you rely on against official sources, as our Disclaimer describes, before you use it. This matters most for formulas, calculations, regulatory limits, chemical safety information and exam content.
No professional relationship
Using the site, reading our material, using our tools or sending us a message does not make us your engineer, consultant, lawyer or adviser, and does not create a professional-client, fiduciary or confidential relationship. That arises only under a separate written agreement signed by us. Material on the site is general information. It is not engineering, legal, regulatory, health or safety advice, and it is not signed or sealed by a licensed professional engineer. Please read our Disclaimer.
Safety and your own decisions
Water and wastewater work involves hazards such as chemicals, confined spaces, electricity and pathogens. Our training is for study. It is not hands-on or safety training and is not a substitute for your employer's training, the Safety Data Sheet, your permit, or the direction of a qualified operator in charge. You are responsible for the decisions you make and the work you do, and you use the material at your own risk.
No warranties
To the fullest extent the law allows, the site, courses, downloads, tools and all other material are provided "as is" and "as available". We give no warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the site will be uninterrupted or error free. We do not guarantee any exam result, licence, continuing education credit, employment or regulatory outcome.
Limit on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, TRY Enviro Technologies LLC and its owners, officers, employees and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, data, licence, job or reputation, or for any fine, penalty or compliance failure, that arises from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its material. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site or to anything you bought is limited to the amount you paid us for the item the claim relates to in the 12 months before the claim arose, or 100 US dollars if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, for example for fraud. Some places do not allow some of these limits, so they apply only as far as the law of your place allows.
Your responsibility to us
To the extent the law allows, you agree to defend, and to cover the reasonable costs of, TRY Enviro Technologies LLC and its owners, officers, employees and contractors against claims made by others that arise from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the site or its material, or decisions you made in reliance on it.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA. If you have a concern, please contact us first and allow 30 days for us to try to resolve it informally. Disputes will be handled in the courts of Virginia, unless the law where you live gives you the right to go to court elsewhere. To the extent the law allows, a claim must be started within one year after it arose.
General
These terms, together with our Disclaimer, Privacy Policy, Refund Policy and Cookies and data page, are the whole agreement between you and us about the site. If a part of them cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up. You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may give you notices by email or on the site. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as those on liability, our responsibility and disputes, continue after your access ends.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Using the site after a change means you accept it. When a change is significant we will tell account holders by email or on the site.
